1st Week of Second Phase Teaching Practice: November 25 – November 29 Introduction The first week of the second phase of my teaching practice, from November 25 to 29, was focused on teaching Class 9B and 8B in preparation for the upcoming Christmas exams. During this week, I continued with the chapter “Behind Movements” in Class 9 and started new chapter in class 8th: Diversity for Sustenance, utilizing various teaching aids to enhance the learning process. Introduction The 9th week of my teaching practice, from November 18 to 22, marked the conclusion of the first phase of our teaching practice. During this period, I focused on conducting a diagnostic test and remedial teaching in Class 8, while also beginning a new chapter in Class 9 as instructed by the biology teacher. This week served as a transition point, with the second phase of teaching practice scheduled to begin the following week. 8th Standard: Diagnostic Test and Remedial Teaching Following the achievement test conducted in the previous week, I administered a diagnostic test to assess the students' understanding of the chapter "Let's Regain Our Field." These weeks were productive, as I completed the chapters assigned and conducted an achievement test in Class 8. Educare: The Importance of Education Date: 14 November 2024 Venue: GHSS Kulathoor Time: 1:30 PM On 14th November 2024, as part of our B.Ed. training, we conducted a conscientization program titled Educare: The Importance of Education at GHSS Kulathoor. The session aimed to raise awareness about the transformative power of education in personal and societal growth. The program began with an interactive session where students shared their understanding of education. The session aimed to educate students on the importance of early detection, prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices to reduce the risk of cancer. The program began with the screening of an informative and thought-provoking video that highlighted key aspects of cancer, including its causes, symptoms, and preventive measures. The video featured real-life stories and expert insights, which resonated deeply with the students. Biweekly Report: October 21 – November 1 Introduction During the fifth and sixth weeks of my teaching practice, from October 21st to November 1st, I continued engaging with students in 8th and 9th grades, focusing on developing their understanding of biological concepts. Alongside my teaching, I also took part in discipline and lunch duties, which allowed me to connect more closely with the students beyond the classroom. - 8th Standard: Chapter – "Why Classification" : I introduced students to the fundamental principles of biological classification.
