9th Week Teaching Practice: November 18 – November 22
Introduction
The 9th week of my teaching practice, from November 18 to 22, marked the conclusion of the first phase of our teaching practice. During this period, I focused on conducting a diagnostic test and remedial teaching in Class 8, while also beginning a new chapter in Class 9 as instructed by the biology teacher. This week served as a transition point, with the second phase of teaching practice scheduled to begin the following week.
8th Standard: Diagnostic Test and Remedial Teaching
Following the achievement test conducted in the previous week, I administered a diagnostic test to assess the students' understanding of the chapter "Let's Regain Our Field." Based on the results, I conducted remedial teaching sessions, addressing misconceptions and clarifying challenging concepts.
9th Standard: Chapter – "Behind Movements"
With the first phase of teaching practice nearing its end, I was asked to begin the next chapter, "Behind Movements." I utilized teaching aids like charts, PowerPoint presentations, and diagrams to explain the concepts effectively. Students engaged actively in discussions and activities, enhancing their learning experience.
Other Activities
Discipline and Lunch Duties: As always, I maintained discipline and ensured smooth functioning during lunch breaks.
Preparations for Phase Transition: During this week, we were informed that the second phase of teaching practice would commence the following week but would only last for one week before Christmas exams. The remaining portion of the second phase would resume in January.
Challenges and Reflections
The diagnostic and remedial sessions allowed me to identify and address specific learning gaps, ensuring students had a stronger foundation moving forward. Beginning the next chapter in Class 9 provided me with an opportunity to apply interactive teaching strategies that continued to engage and motivate students.
