3rd & 4th Week Teaching practice: October 7 – October 18
Biweekly Report: October 7 – October 18
Introduction
During the third and fourth weeks of my teaching practice, from October 7th to October 18th, I continued teaching students in 8th and 9th classes. Alongside my regular lessons, I conducted two subject association activities for World Sight Day and World Food Day. Additionally, I fulfilled various duties, such as discipline and lunch, which provided a broader perspective on school management.
Class Overview
- 8th Standard: Chapter – "Let’s Regain Our Field" chapter was continued and used teaching aids such as ICT ppt, video, charts, flashcards, and activity cards to engage the students actively.
- 9th Standard: Chapter – "Respiration and Excretion" - Continuing from previous lessons, I used various teaching tools, including ICT PPT, video, charts, activity cards to explain the complex processes of respiration.
Other Activities
- Discipline and Lunch Duties: Throughout these weeks, I participated in the school’s discipline and lunch duties. These responsibilities helped me develop a better understanding of student behavior management and the logistics involved in maintaining order during school hours.
- Subject Association Activity
- World Sight Day (October 10): On October 10th, I conducted an activity in class 8th B to raise awareness about World Sight Day.
- World Food Day (October 16): On October 16th, I organized a World Food Day activity for the 8th-grade students.
Challenges and Reflections:
Balancing my teaching duties with discipline and lunch responsibilities was a challenge, but it gave me valuable insight into the non-academic aspects of school life. Using different teaching aids such as charts, flashcards, and PowerPoint presentations allowed me to cater to various learning styles and keep the students engaged. The students responded positively to the subject association activities, where they actively participated and showed creativity in poster-making.
Conclusion
The third and fourth weeks of my teaching practice were enriching, as I continued my teaching skills while engaging students in both academic and extracurricular activities. The use of varied teaching aids significantly enhanced student participation, and the subject association activities provided meaningful opportunities for them to explore important global issues.
