National Space day 2024

On 23rd August, we celebrated the first National Space Day. The government of India announced 23 August as National Space Day to mark the landing of the Vikram lander of the Chandrayaan -3 mission on the moon's south pole. In connection to this, our college decided to conduct a one day excursion to VSSC (Vikram Sarabhai Space Center) to build our knowledge regarding rocket and space. VSSC Thumba is the first place from where the sounding rocket was launched in India on 21st November 1963.

Independence Day celebration 2024

On 15th August, 78th Independence Day was celebrated in our College. The programme started on 14th August with Patriotic song competition and Poster making competition. On 15th August, Flag Hoisting was done by 8:30am by Fr. Pancretius, Manager and message given by Dr. Lidson Raj, Principal. Sweets were distributed at the end of the celebration.

Anti- Ragging day 2024

Anti- Ragging Day was celebrated on14th August in our college. The programme was named Ek Saath 2024. This event helped in enlightening the importance to spread the awareness that Ragging is a punishable offense. Short film presentation, seminar, Mime and Skit based on Anti Ragging was the highlight of the programme. Both the Senior batch and Junior batch students participated.

Capacity building program 2024

St. Jacob’s Training College conducted Capacity Building programme for psychology and philosophy on 28th June, 2024. The activity aims to equip student teachers to face the challenges of classroom situations in a multicultural society and to uplift the quality of teacher education to meet global standards. The programme for psychology was named SERENTIA, which included resource talk on Coping with stress and philosophy programme was named EMPATIA, which included a visit to St. Matha's Special School. By 10:00 a.m. we began with SERENTIA-Resource talk on "Coping with Stress" delivered by Dr. Sujith Edwin Pereira (Director, NaITER).  After the talk, we visited St. Martha's Special School Menamkulam. There, we interacted with the students and distributed them books, pens, and snacks to them. We then return back to college.
